Golf Courses – within 10 minutes you can be at the beautiful Waterlea Golf Course or Fairhall Golf Course where you can hire what you need and enjoy a round, in a picturesque setting.
Walking paths – Wither Hills Farm Park has tracks for all fitness levels, and superb views over the whole Wairau plains and out to sea.
Catch the water taxi in Picton (20 minutes away) and visit Lochmara Lodge or Bay of Many Coves Resort for lunch, while enjoying cruising in the Queen Charlotte Sound.
Visit the quaint town of Havelock, just 30 minutes away and famed for its Greenshell Mussels. At the Marina you can take a 3 hour cruise into the Kenepuru and Pelorus Sounds and visit a Mussel farm or you could enjoy lunch at the Slip Inn Cafe, right in the marina watching boats coming and going. www.havelocknz.com/location

Lake Rotoiti, just over an hours drive takes you into the Alpine region of St Arnaud, a village like settlement around the large Lake where there are walking trails to explore through the native bush.
Nelson, a 1 ½ hour drive away, the founding place of the Wearable Arts Show in 1987. The WOW and Classic Car Museum is well worth a visit. Iconic waterfront cafes.
Kaikoura – a 1 1/2 hour drive away, takes you to the small coastal town where you can go whale watching or swimming with the dolphins. It has a spectacular Peninsula walk with views of the sea and mountains.
